Hope Heals

blueprint of hope

Remembering God’s faithfulness, and learning from past mistakes, Caleb and Montana continued drawing their dreams.

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Romans 5:5 KJV

Faith Works

blueprint of faith

During the winter months, Caleb and Montana created a church building plan for a small community near Orchard Valley. The town mayor didn’t bother waiting for Montana to tip his hat before throwing the plan in the fire.

“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:”
Romans 5:3, 4 KJV

Rails East: More Than One Way to Catch a Cow

railroad:cheyenne

Cheyenne, Wyoming Territory: “I thought I’d known horses until I saw the ropin’ and riding rodeo in Cheyenne. The horses showed beauty and spirit and how those cowboys could ride! I cheered until I was hoarse, but not too hoarse to finish off a tall stack of blueberry pancakes.”

“Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?”
Job 39:19 KJV

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”

Precious

restful runaways

“I washed and wrapped his cuts in strips from my clothes,” June explained to Montana. “I, I’m r-r-ready to c-c-ome home.” Together, they lifted Orion and carried him back to the ranch.

“He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.”
Psalm 72:13, 14 KJV

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2 KJV

Humble Pie

prickly encounter

Susanna knew she couldn’t place full blame on the neighbor’s unfinished fence. While Montana searched for Orion, Susanna spent a restless night pleading with God to redeem her actions.

“Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.”
Psalm 25:18 KJV

Lost and Found

colt training

Worried over June’s disappearance, Susanna tried to focus on a new project at Caleb’s ranch: training Blue Star’s colt, Orion.

“Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.

And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech’s:

And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.

Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.”
Ruth 4:1-6 KJV

Trail Surprise

winning word

“Good grazes, Pepper, we won!” Montana rubbed his beloved Mustang’s neck as they walked to the winner’s circle.
Even though blue skies and green grass now filled Pepper’s days, he had once again proved a faithful trail partner.

“He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.”
Psalm 147:15 KJV
