Montana and Susanna eagerly opened their first letter from June in Agate Beach: “Dear Friends, I’ve had a busy month getting things organized in my uncle’s laundry. Agate Beach is a melting pot of nationalities—it’s made for some interesting conversations sometimes. Harriet and I are thinking of starting a school for the workers’ children.
