Greed, Revisited

Frederic Bucannon wanted to buy more land in Agate Beach owned by Susanna’s late husband—land Susanna hadn’t known about. In her morning prayers, Susanna raised the paper in her fist, questioning God’s wisdom in sending her yet another surprise test.

“Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.”

Trail Trust

On the trail to Orchard Valley, as Susanna saw God’s hand in nature, her fear and sorrow began to slip away. Having Sam along as trail guide made for one less worry about her future.

Taking the Lead

With Montana’s help, Susanna taught Blue Star to respond to pressure, respect personal space and follow movement instructions. She rewarded Blue Star with a favorite: apple slices.
