Mercy Shine

quilt: mercy shine

Daily wash n’ wear.

Take each day as a gift from God;
wrapping it in His promises.
At eventide, return His gift,
counting your blessings.

“But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;”
Titus 3:4-6 KJV

restful runaways

“I washed and wrapped his cuts in strips from my clothes,” June explained to Montana. “I, I’m r-r-ready to c-c-ome home.” Together, they lifted Orion and carried him back to the ranch.

“He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.”
Psalm 72:13, 14 KJV

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2 KJV

Darkness

fluff and fold

June’s uncle owned the town’s laundry where Susanna found work. Her tears often mixed with the sweat and steam of the laundry. Wasn’t Orchard Valley where God wanted her to be? Had He ever tried to move a mountain of wet sheets and shirts?

“Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?”
2 Kings 5:12, 13 KJV
