World Choir

singing seaside

June learned to sing her frustrations into the sea while strumming Sam’s guitar.

“And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.”
1 Kings 4:29 KJV

Mighty Chorus

sparrow's song

Montana and Susanna joined the community in rebuilding the chapel as a first step in their new life together.

“In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:16, 17 KJV

Voice of Thanksgiving

thanksgiving song

Susanna’s parents traveled from Fort Refuge for a Thanksgiving celebration.

“Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?”
Ruth 3:1 KJV

“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.”
Psalm 26:7 KJV

Pattern of Hope

memory jog

As Harriet led the songfest with Sam, she slowly recognized the specific colors and patterns of the quilt that wrapped Susanna and June in warmth.

“That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:”
Psalm 78:7 KJV

Waves of Praise

ocean vespers

Although Susanna didn’t feel much like singing, she allowed the warmth of Rosita’s gift to surround her as she listened to believers and nature praise their Creator.

“All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.”
Psalm 66:4 KJV

Hearts Open

luck or providence?

Sam, the local blacksmith, invited Susanna to a Friday evening Surf ‘n Sing that he and his wife, Harriet hosted most weekends.

“And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.”
Acts 16:14 KJV

Sew Restful

quilt hangin'

Rosita and Susanna hung the temple wagon quilt in the foyer of the new chapel. The quilt reminded the community that God’s unfailing love covered all believers.

“Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.”
Joshua 1:13 KJV

Worship with Joy

spiritually fed

Susanna savored the different flavors of the community as they rejoiced in God’s leading.

“And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.”
Ezra 6:16 KJV

Under Construction

substitute fork

The community drew together to build a permanent place of worship. When it came to tasting Susanna’s pies, Montana chose a creative approach to shoveling it in.

“And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:”
Ruth 1:16 KJV

End of the Trail

quilted memories

Love leads the future.

“And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

For the Lord your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:

That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.”
Joshua 4:21-24 KJV
